Short notes on installing Mimir, connecting it to your store, and using it day to day.

Connect Shopify in five minutes

Quick start

Start your first crawl in three steps.

  1. Install the app

Mimir is a desktop app for Mac and Windows.

  2. Connect your Claude account

Requests to the model go out from your own Claude account.

  3. Enter your site's address

Mimir crawls up to 5,000 pages every day. About 100 rules run in this crawl; no model is used, and the crawl is free.

Mimir brings every draft it writes to you for approval. Nothing goes live until you approve it.

What runs where

The site crawl runs on our servers; everything else runs on your computer.

The site crawl runs on our servers every day and keeps going while your computer is off. Product copy, drafts, AI visibility measurements, research results, project memory, and the knowledge graph run on your computer and stay there.

Your phone is just a remote control: Munin shows the draft awaiting approval on the lock screen and passes your decision to approve or reject it to Mimir on your computer.

Shopify quick setup

The connection runs through a custom app that you create in your own store. It takes four steps and about five minutes.

Every step is also written out below.
  1. Open your store

In Mimir's Shopify connection card, enter your store's domain and press the “Open in Shopify” button. In the app settings that open, choose the “Build apps in Dev Dashboard” option.

  2. Create the app

In the Dev Dashboard, create an app named Mimir. The “Embed app in Shopify admin” box comes checked; uncheck it. Leave the redirect URL field empty.

  3. Add the permissions

Copy the three permissions below and paste them into the “Scopes” field: products, translations, and languages. No other permissions are needed. Choose 2026-10 as the API version.

    write_products,write_translations,read_locales
  4. Release, install, paste

Click Release to publish the version, then Install to add the app to your store. On the app's “Settings” page, copy the Client ID and Client secret values and paste them into Mimir, then press the “Test connection” button.

Once the connection is set up, Mimir shows your store, its languages, and the permissions it has. If a permission is missing, add it in the Dev Dashboard and release a new version.

After the Client secret is saved, it isn't shown again. On macOS, it's stored in Keychain.

Copy you approve goes to your store as draft products. If you update a live product, that product stays in draft until you publish it again in Shopify. Before sending anything, Mimir backs up the existing product data, so if something goes wrong, you have a copy to go back to.

ikas files

You send products to ikas using import files.

Instead of sending products to ikas directly, Mimir produces files you can import: a product file, plus a separate Translations file for each language that has no column in the product file.

urunler.csv product file
urunler.en.ikas-ceviriler.csv English translations
urunler.ar.ikas-ceviriler.csv Arabic translations

The names above only show the structure; you'll see the actual file names on screen when you export.

Languages

Product copy is written in the language of the market you sell in.

Turkish, English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Arabic, and dozens more. Your brand voice carries over into every language. For Arabic, Mimir uses Modern Standard Arabic for the Gulf; the text runs right to left, and a glossary keeps institution names consistent.

In every language, copy goes through the two-stage quality gate: first a rule check, then a second model that reads the copy the way a native speaker would. For English and Arabic, the gate also adds language-specific rules.

Shortcuts

When Munin shows a draft awaiting approval, two keys are all you need.

A approve the draft
R reject the draft
